The Sanctuary is owned by Retreat Associates. We are a group of dedicated professionals who care about developing land for its future homeowners, as well as keeping the environment in mind. The group was formed to purchase a preserve of the former Divine Word Seminary, located three miles southwest of Perrysburg, off West River Road and along the scenic rolling terrain of the Maumee River valley. The seminary had been used as an educational training center, complete with dormitories for priesthood. By purchasing this land, we gave our solemn promise to do everything possible to maintain the original beauty and natural environment, and we have.
Our vision was to design a residential development with curving roads and ponds to protect the natural beauty of the woods, water and rolling valleys. In keeping with the area's natural beauty, an architectural control committee approves every home design to assure the continue quality and natural environment of this community.
